Andrea Duclos: The Plantiful Table
Andreas Blog OhDearDrea has been one of my favorites for years. I love her colorful pictures, her style and her relaxed manner. Her book is a colorful collection of really uncomplicated and absolutely suitable recipes for everyday use. The completely vegan recipe collection is inspired by dishes from all over the world, especially the South American recipes. Since she also cooks for her daughter Marlowe, there are also many recipes that are suitable for children and other picky eaters.
Favourite recipes I have cooked:
- Cashew cheese (for pizza, quesadilla etc.)
- Rice and Beans
- Easy pasta with cherrytomatoes and greens
- Kale & sundried tomato pasta
- Creamy tomato soup
Anna Jones: A modern way to cook
Anna Jones worked for Jamie Oliver as a food stylist and was originally one of the apprentices at Jamie´s Fifteen. Her cookbooks are beautifully and elegantly designed without being stuffy. The vegetarian and to a large extent vegan book cook book puts the focus on seasonal vegetables. The recipes are ordered by duration of preparation and mostly relatively uncomplicated. However, they sometimes contain some ingredients that cannot be found in every supermarket. However, this results in absolutely exciting combinations of flavors that bring a breath of fresh air into the kitchen.
Favorite dishes I’ve cooked:
- One Pot Spaghetti with kale, tomato and lemon
- Flat bread with avocado, tahini and olive puree (soooo good!)
- Sweet potato soup with lime and peanut
- A modern Moussaka
- crunchy crackers

Cookbook author Sally Butcher loves vegetables and the cuisine of the Middle East. She shows in her cookbook that these two components complement each other perfectly.
Understandable when you look at dishes full of aromas such as stuffed figs, stew with plums and spinach or aubergines with yoghurt sauce. Strong herbs and spices such as coriander, cumin and nutmeg are used as well as the seasoning Ras el Hanout and the chili paste Harissa, for which do-it-yourself instructions are supplied.
The variety of country cuisines from Iran, Afghanistan, Armenia or Turkey offers combinations of flavors that may seem unusual for our taste buds. But once you’ve been a guest in Veggiestan, you won’t want to go back any time soon.
